Tilikum Crossing First Light Event

I’m very humble and honored to be one of 15 plein air artists who was chosen to plein air paint during the Tilikum Crossing First Light Event. The Event is hosted by Trimet on September 10, 2015 at the Collaborative Life Sciences Building, 

This is a private event put on by Trimet. Many Thanks for Brooks Hickerson for granting me that wonderful opportunity. So very excited to be painting with friends Kristina Sellers, Sandra Pearce, Celeste Bergen, Dixie Kroupa for this event as well as many other Portland area plein air painters I admire. Hillsboro Plein Air Plus Exhibition, Opening Night October 7th

I was so blessed to participate in the Hillsboro Plein Air Plus Competition.  Thank you Lord, I'm so grateful that You helped me get through the paint out with my back behaving. When I can go out to paint, I feel like a little kid who gets to go out and play.  I was only able to paint for 2 hours the 1st day because of a doctor's appointment.  But I was able to paint from 9 am to 2 pm today and was able to finish my painting.  It's a 16 x 20 oil on canvas. I call it Hillsboro Bridge with MCM Style.

Exhibit at Historical McLoughlin House & Barclay House

'Blue Heron Swan Song'

Anna will have two paintings of the Blue Heron Factory at Willamette Falls on exhibit at the historical McLoughlin House & Barclay House in Oregon City during the month of May to celebrate Founders Month in Oregon City.

Her pieces titled 'Blue Heron Swan Song' (18x24 oil on canvas) and 'View from McLoughlin Promenade' (16x20 oil on canvas) will be on exhibit. Both paintings were created en plein air during the 2013 Oregon City Paint the Falls Challenge.

Event highlights include an Artists' luncheon at Rood Bridge Park, two figurative "Tableaux Vivant" opportunities, reception with music, refreshments and People's Choice voting and gallery exhibit of the work created during the Plein Air Event at the Walters Cultural Arts Center.

Willamette Falls Plein Air Challenge Exhibition

In October, Anna participated in the Willamette Falls Plein Air Challenge at the Blue Heron Falls Overlook. It is now time to come see the final result of Anna and other local artists time and effort at Oregon City Hall Gallery for the exhibition.

Tualatin Life Press Release: The Living Room Gallery Solo Exhibition

A nice article was published in the December 2013 issue of Tualatin Life newspaper about my solo exhibition at the Tualatin Library titled 'Tualatin Artist Displays Beautiful Oils at Tualatin Library'.  The exhibit features some of my Plein Air paintings not at the Forever Art Gallery.  Many thanks to artist Angela Wrahtz for writing the article and organizing the exhibition.

Portland Open Studios

Portland Open Studios is an annual self-guided tour to visit the studios of 100 artists throughout the Portland metro area.  Anna will be one of these artists this year and her studio will be open the weekends of October 12-13 and October 19 - 20, 2013 from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Walters Cultural Arts Center Exhibit & Reception

Anna Lancaster was one of the forty-one artists who participated in the 6th Annual Hillsboro Plein Air Competition this September, painting the landscapes of Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve, the city scenes of downtown Hillsboro and the scenic views of the Ardiri Winery & Vineyards.

Join us for an Artist's Reception and Exhibit at the Walters Cultural Arts Center on October 2 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM to celebrate the amazing works created during the competition. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres will be provided by Claeys Catering and Songwriters in the Round will provide an acoustic music showcase featuring instructors and staff from Five Star Guitars playing original compositions and telling the stories behind the music.

The exhibit will run through October 30.  The galleries are open Monday - Thursday from 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM, Friday from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

The interest for Sentimental Sunset - Myrtle Beach and Cannon Beach Sentinels was generated by the website.  My purchaser saw my exhibit at Sweetwater Farm Furniture, Googled me, saw those two paintings and purchased them.
