Hillsboro Plein Air Plus Exhibition, Opening Night October 7th

"Hillsboro Bridge with MCM Style", 16 x 20 Oil on Canvas en Plein Air
I was so blessed to participate in the Hillsboro Plein Air Plus Competition.  Thank you Lord, I'm so grateful that You helped me get through the paint out with my back behaving. When I can go out to paint, I feel like a little kid who gets to go out and play.  I was only able to paint for 2 hours the 1st day because of a doctor's appointment.  But I was able to paint from 9 am to 2 pm today and was able to finish my painting.  It's a 16 x 20 oil on canvas. I call it Hillsboro Bridge with MCM Style.

Peninsula Art League 2014 Open Juried Art Show

Very blessed to have my painting Blue Morning Mist chosen to be part of the Peninsula Art League 2014 Open Juried Art Show, September 27 - November 15 at the Harbor History Museum in Gig Harbor Washington.

Juror this year is Carla O'Connor, a signature member of the American and National Watercolor Societies.

Blue Morning Mist, 25 x 24 Oil on Linen
This piece is an enlargement of a small 9 x 12 study done at Cannon Beach last year.  The study sold at Forever Art Gallery and owner Carole Bordak asked me to do a larger painting for the gallery.  She felt that the image lent itself to a larger work.

Sadly, Forever Art closed this past May.  I look forward to new venues Carole will be a part of.  I'm so glad Carole encouraged me to do the enlargement.  I didn't get to hang it at her gallery but it has been given the honor of being included in this national exhibition; many thanks Carole, your encouragement and direction has blessed me many times.

The opening reception for the exhibition is September 26th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
